Enrollment Information
Thank you for your interest in Educare of Washington, DC. Due to our extensive infant-toddler wait list we are not accepting additional infant-toddler pre-enrollment applications at this time. As of June 7, 2012 we are only accepting pre-enrollment applications for preschool children ages 3- 5.
We are currently enrolling for the 2013-2014 program year for our preschool and infant-toddler program.
During our first program year, Educare of Washington, DC is providing quality early learning opportunities for approximately 123 infants, toddlers and preschoolers, and their families. Three of Educare's 12 classrooms are devoted to children ages 3-to-5, and nine to children ages 6 weeks to 3 years.
In the years to come, Educare of Washington, DC will expand its services to raise the quality of birth to five education for hundreds of additional at-risk children in Wards 7, 8 and 5, which have the highest rates of poverty in the District.
Children of low-wage-earning families are eligible to apply. Childcare fees for full-day, full-year care are based upon income and/or subsidy availability. An enrollment specialist will assist you in determining the appropriate fee for service.
High-quality prekindergarten services for all children ages 3 to 5 years are available full-day, full-year in a new facility especially designed for young children. Services are offered by highly credentialed lead teachers and other staff with a master's or bachelor's degree in early childhood education. Family engagement and involvement is a key component to Educare's high quality. Parents/guardians are welcome to visit the classroom and/or observe at any time.
Full-day, full-year care for infants and toddlers is offered in warm, home-like environments designed to help parents who are working or going to school with their childcare needs. Lead teachers are highly skilled in providing nurturing environments for young children. Each child has a primary caregiver in the classroom. Group size is not greater than eight so that babies and toddlers benefit from high-quality interactions and caring/nurturing attention. Family engagement and involvement is a key component to Educare's high quality. Parents/guardians are welcome to visit the classroom and/or observe at any time.
