Educare DC is an early childhood education program that equips vulnerable young children with the skills necessary for success in kindergarten and beyond. Educare DC is a NAEYC-accredited Head Start program that serves 424 children from prenatal to age five in our two full-day, full-year schools and through community partnerships.
We are part of the Educare Learning Network (ELN), made up of 25 high-quality early childhood schools across the country. The Educare model emphasizes data utilization, high-quality teaching practices, embedded professional development, and intensive family engagement. Each classroom has three teachers and is supported by an instructional coach. Educare teachers, students, and families also receive support from on-site specialists who work in collaboration with the teaching team to provide a full complement of support services for Educare families.
